Takeoff from snowy Stewart Airport on the Canadian border and make your way through the mountains to Wrangell Airport in Alaska.

Flight Plan Notes:

  1. Takeoff southbound out of Stewart.
  2. After takeoff make immediate right turn following the Cascade River.
  3. After the turn, make maximum rate climb up to 7,500ft.
  4. Once clear of the mountains, turn right heading 270' or Direct-To Waypoint 6.
  5. At Waypoint 6, the Bradfield River should be in sight. Descend as low down to 3,500ft.
  6. If visibility permits, the Tyee Lake Hydroelectric Facility has an airstrip at the head of the Bradfield Canal. It will be off of the your left wing. Try a touch-and-go.
  7. Follow the Bradfield River. When it splits, make a right turn at Blake island.
  8. Continue down the river for 20nm.
  9. Once the river opens up, the Wrangell Airport will be visibile off of your left wing. See Airport link for Instrument Approach Procedures into Wrangell.
