Depart from the flat plains of the Yakima Air Terminal (KYKM) and follow the Naches River though steep gorges untill it branches left at the Bumping River.

An south west heading will take you along it to Parker Creek untill you reach the valley end with a steep zig zagging road marking the Cayuse Pass. Cross the pass and pick up the White River, flowing from the steep sides of Mt Mount Rainier, and make a left hand orbit around it's summit. Once around the southern side of the volano, fly between Mt Mount Rainier and the triple peaks of Pinnacle, Unicorn and Stevens before picking up the Cowlitz River and following it away to the south west again.

Overhead Randle Kiona Airpark, find the small lake at the end of the valley then tuck left and then almost immediatly right into the next steep sided green walled valley that will take you directly towards the summit of Mt St Helens on a southerly heading.

Pop out of Spirit Lake, and orbit the mountain top in an anti clockwise direction, before commencing a slow descent and following the passage of the North Fork Toutle River away from the area. As the river widens to form Hoffstadt Creek, break left and cross the foothills to the south west towards Silver Lake. You'll then be able to pick up the Cowlitz River once again, and follow it south to the confluence at the Columbia River, for a full stop landing at KKLS.
