This flight plan takes us thorugh the Carpathian Mountains in central Romania, through the area known as Transilvania. The Transilvania International Airport, where the flight plan begins, is near the city of Vidrasau. Most of the flight can be a low altitude, following roads and streams, but always look ahead for the next ridge of the Carpathian Mountains. There are a lot of small villages tucked in the woods. We pass Bran Castle (a Waypoint is there), believed to have been the abode of Vlad the Impaler, Son of the Dragon. The ruler of Walachia who inspired the Irish novelist Bram Stoker to write Dracula.
