Mt. Taranaki is a single, lone mountain and an active volcano which is overdue for an eruption. It may only be standing this tall for a short time more before it explodes and collapses!

There is a clearly visible ring of forest around the mountain. This forest shows the boundaries of the national park protecting the area around the mountain.

Take a trip around the mountain and be prepared to land on a grass strip at your destination.
