19/7/1972 - 'The Dhofar War'. The Battle of Mirbat was an attack by approximately 250 Adoo guerrillas against just nine British Special Air Service (SAS) Soldiers. The assault was defeated after the eventual arrival of three BAC 167 Strikemaster Jets & reinforcements from G Squadron (SAS).
