Inspired by steveo1kinevo's recent YT video where he did a scenic flight in a PC-24 from the Pilatus Factory in Buochs (LSZC) to Gstaad Airport in Saanen (LSGK). No custom scenery or pay ware aircraft required! Scenario: you live in Switzerland, you’re rich and it’s time to do some flying. You and your leggy girlfriend hop into the ol’e private jet to do a quick soar over the mountains on your way to Saanen. Your girlfriend will have plenty of new pics to showcase her jet setting lifestyle on IG and you’ll have another stunning flight with a challenging, low approach into Saanen added to your logbook. In short, it’s gonna be a beautiful day. You depart out of Buochs - RW24 climbing to 10.000 feet, as you turn and head south east towards the mountains. You can take a wider loop around Ennetmoos or further over the water towards LSMA during your departure leg before turning to get back onto the flight plan. Hand fly or turn on the A/P to focus on the excellent views. Keep an eye out for terrain and icing conditions climbing up to 15.000 feet by the time you reach the hold (loop) above Wendengletscher. After that it's onwards to Saanen. Stay above 12.000 feet at 4624N00737E. As you head into the valley you can descend to about 8.000/9.000 feet going into 4629N00721E. Continue your descend when able aiming to stay above 5.000 feet as you enter the pattern, seeing Gstaad Airport on your left, as you turn and head towards Rougemont. Don't directly overfly Rougemont, you'll piss off the neighbors. After you’ve passed Rougemont, turn base and start your descend, watching out for the terrain into RW08 (this part is a joy to hand fly). Make sure you’re stable and slow on your long final into RW08 at Gstaad Airport (elevation: 3.284 feet). These are rough notes, but hopefully they help. For more realism you might want to consider a RW26 landing at Gstaad as this runway is commonly in use due to Westerly winds. 15.000 feet is probably too low over the mountains but great for the views. You can consider 20.000 feet. Link to the IRL pilot briefings: https://www.gstaad-airport.ch/en/pilots/ Scenario is fictional and intended as satire.
