Depart from Menara, Marakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco not far from the Ourika valley leading into the Atlas Mountains. Follow the valley to Asgaour passing Jebel Yagour mountain peak on the left of you. There turn left and follow the river up the valley going East. Follow the right branch at the next intersection and climb over the mountain range to Tazoulte on the other side.

From there the route follows the river bed towards Ouarzazate. A green stretch of life in the dry mountains and desert. As you go on the river slowly dries up while the desert further creeps into the valley. Once Bing updates, the Centrale Solaire Noor 3 Ouarzazate solar tower is located just North, a huge construction project with concentric circles of mirrors direction sunlight on the central tower. (For now it's still empty desert)

Ouarzazate is only the first stop, 6 more stops follow with varying terrain, always surprising with new views. After Tinfouchy a way point will guide you over the Nisanian pentagram, shape on the ground. Take your time to absorb the landscape. A very detailed area rich in color and awesome formations.
